Nazlı means “Coy”. Born in May 2014, she was placed in a cardboard box with her brother and 4 sisters and left in a field to die. When Defne walked by and heard a strange, muffled sound coming from the box, she looked inside to find 6 puppies, eyes still closed at 2-3 days old. Defne took them home, where they needed to be fed every 2 hours around the clock. Nazlı was the least demanding, but the most needy of the pups because she was resistant to the baby bottle. Her fragility won her the most attention.
When the puppies were 2 months old, the male suddenly died. Nazlı and her sister, Neşe, became terribly ill. Diagnosed with canine parvovirus, which is almost always fatal if left untreated, the vet immediately administered an IV. There was some hope for Neşe, but when Nazlı fell into a coma, they believed all was lost… until 9 days later, when the clinic called to say that Sleeping Beauty had awakened and was eating canned food!
At the age of 9 months, neutered and fully vaccinated, Nazlı and her sisters were ready to join the other dogs at the shelter. The gregarious Jasmine, Cansu, Neşe, and Canım will be among the first dogs to welcome you to the property, but Nazlı hangs shyly behind, her sweet timidity drawing your attention.
